Mug Shot: Art Class Mug

This lumpy looking thing is a mug I made in art class, many, many, many years ago. It's the perfect size, shape and weight for my hand. UNFORTUNATELY, however, the kiln had been set to the wrong temperature for the glaze--not my doing--ruining what was supposed to have been a lovely, latte-colored, satiny finish.

Since I made it specifically to fit my hand, it's still VERY comfortable to hold. But I almost never use it--which could be why it's survived so long. That surface texture is not particularly pleasant against my lips. And unless I sterilize it, it never feels clean. And I'm by no means a germaphobe, so that's saying something!

This still continues to frustrate me no end. It could have been so good!! And the person responsible for ruining it wasn't even apologetic. Which is sadly typical of far too many people--especially teachers, IMO.

The daffodils in the background are there because it's daffodil season! And I love them. I once wrote a poem about daffodils, that I'd wanted to post here. But I can't find it and I wasted far too much time trying to look for it. Adding to my frustration.

All in all, this is a very frustrating post. But I guess that's better than a depressed post? Or maybe not.

Anyway: Lovely background. Not so pretty mug.
